I have a few favorites, so it might be easier to list what kinds of movies I like. I enjoy action/adventure (love the Marvel movies), and almost anything with good special effects. I also like comedies, mystery/suspense, and thriller movies on occasion. Really, I enjoy watching just about anything, but movies that fall under those categories usually get my first pick. I don’t get into really dark or overly crude comedies, movies overloaded with sex-nudity, or horror movies that are super gory-which Might seem a little odd since I’m a Walking Dead fan, but they’re just not my thing. As a side note, though I’m willing to occasional sit through them when I’m with friends or family who love Star Wars, I am personally not a big fan the movies. I don’t mind the classics, but despite putting forth a sincere effort for the sake of the few Star Wars fans in my life, I have just never been able to get into the half dozen they’ve made since the originals. Sorry, Star Wars fans.
I’d honestly rather watch the movie.
I love Italian and Mexican food, and enjoy a good steak on occasion. I like a good variety of other foods, but you won’t catch me eating a lot of fish, and I tend to be a little picky, so I’m not super adventurous when it comes to trying new and/or strange things (i.e. you probably won’t talk me into eating anything with more than four legs or the internal organs of something you wouldn’t normally see on a menu stateside). With that said, if you really enjoy trying all kinds of new and exotic foods, knock yourself out! I can find some kind of chicken almost anywhere.
I listen mainly to contemporary Christian, but I like all types of different music. I’m not a fan metal, hard core rap, or anything with a ton of language in it though. I’ve got 3 kids, so I try to keep it clean.
I enjoy spending time with my kiddos, watching movies, and going out to dinner with family and friends when possible. I probably watch more TV than I ought to right now, but there’s rarely anything on that I wouldn’t ditch for some other fun activity/outing or something that’s simply better deserving of my time. These days, everything we watch can be recorded and saved for later anyway. Although there are probably more shows than I’d like to admit to keeping up with currently, there’s really only one that I’d have a hard time giving up, and that’s “The Walking Dead.” I’ve never been into zombie stuff, but somehow that one managed to sucked me in from the beginning, and I’m afraid I’m in it for the long haul, lol!
When the opportunity arises, I really enjoy hiking, taking my kiddos to swim and play at the lake, and just hopping in the car and driving until we’re bored with it. When we have nothing else to do, I sometimes load up the family and take them on mini road trips, within a 100miles or so, looking for new parks and fun places to visit in neighboring towns/cities. When possible, we try to have dinner in some little hole-in-the-wall place that you can’t find anywhere else. I’ve not been able to yet, but eventually I’d like to expand those road trips into other states and have an occasional weekend where it starts off as one of our typical drives and ends up being a night or two away from home. I love traveling and sightseeing, but it gets expensive fast. So, for now, I really enjoy being able to take our mini road trips without breaking the budget.
Aside from that, I occasionally enjoy doing artsy stuff. I’m no artist, but I like making things like picture frames and decorative wood plaques, and I enjoy DIY interior design stuff. If I had the time and money, I would love to flip houses. I’d have someone else come in for the maintenance and most of the construction, but I would handle all of the cosmetic stuff and could do most of it myself. I have plenty of other interests that I’m leaving out, but these hit the hot spots. I’m also a big OKC Thunder fan and an even bigger OU Sooners football fan! I don’t watch a lot of sports on TV, but those are definitely my teams! Because there are so many, I usually only catch 3-4 Thunder games a month, if that. But, I rarely miss watching my Sooners play!
For me, any place with a beautiful view can set the tone for a romantic weekend. I’m a fan of many different types of landscapes, so that “view” could be in the sticks with an open sky full of stars, a quiet place up in mountains, or even somewhere with a nice view of the city lights.
