Hello and thank you very much for viewing my profile. I greatly appreciate your interest. I am a 43 years of age (I feel much younger!) professional, having worked both in the private (civilian) and military/government (currently) sectors. I truly love life, love giving, and making the most out of life! I am a very positive and sociable person and also well-read/knowledgeable. I live a clean and healthy lifestyle and health & fitness have been a cornerstone of my life since I was 13. I hope to share my lifestyle with a special lady. Additionally, I enjoy cooking and have been told that I am pretty good at it. Furthermore, I love to travel and see new places and also look forward to enjoying this with my future partner. Over the past year or so, I have focused more on career development, building a business consultancy in the medical device field as well as work in medical journalism and involvement in a start-up cardiovascular medical device company in Silicon Valley, however given I believe that balance if important in life, I've decided to give this another shot. Up until now, I believe that I have been fortunate to live a life rich in experiences. I have spent a good deal of time on education, public service (healthcare/military/teaching), and traveling. I love to experience different cultures (food/ traveling to other countries). I feel that my biggest success in life is being a good Father and role model to my two lovely, smart, and polite daughters, ages 11 and 6. I enjoy a very emotionally close and loving relationship with them and I am very involved in their academic & physical/athletic development. I do the best I can as a Father. Furthermore, I had a terrific and memorable experience serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve for many years as I befriended and worked alongside some really great people, Men & Women and participated in exercises around the Hawaiian Islands. Strong and lasting friendships are very important to me as well as meaningful experiences. I believe that one should strive to find purpose and meaning in their life and make the most of the opportunities presented to them, therefore I try to live by this. As far as my personality goes - I'm a mix of things. I can be both extroverted (I greatly enjoy parties/social gatherings and have no problems making new friends at events) and introverted (I can spend hours on end researching & writing a medical presentation or writing a technical white-paper). I do enjoy reading a great deal on topics such as science, technology, geography, oceanography, astronomy, and medical, health, & fitness. I try my best to live my life with integrity, courtesy, honesty and respect for others. I can also be humorous, sometimes in a sarcastic way. I think I'm a very giving person, in terms of my time and sharing knowledge. When I was a teacher at a technical school, I would provide free tutoring to my students after work and if I can ever help someone, like jumping their car, helping them to change a tire, moving furniture, I will almost always volunteer to help. I just think that this is the right thing to do. I also greatly enjoy an engaging and interesting conversation. I think it's important to understand many different perspectives as it provides you with a more realistic view of the world. Health and fitness have always been an important part of my life and I have always been pretty athletic. I started running & weightlifting when I was 13 years old, and have maintained a fairly vigorous physical fitness routine since then. I ran X-country and middle distance track in High School and due to the extremely intense training I did, it just became a part of my life. I did not run in college since I was too busy working part-time and doing internships. But, I did participate in inter-Greek life sports (Yes, I was in a Fraternity in college and remain good friends with many of my Brothers and now our kids play together). To try something different, I trained for and competed in a National Physique Committee (NPC) Bodybuilding Contest in Boulder, CO at age 22. These days with a busy schedule I keep in shape with interval running, calisthenics, stretching, and swimming. My daughters and I do little running races in the park or swimming races in the pool.
