I absolutely love patient focused medicine and am a former United States Marine Corps Officer wife and I love military medicine - and I only wish that I could have passed the physical to become a United State Navy Nurse but with a small little leaky mitral heart valve that was found by a Bethesda USN officer and reinforced by Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota - my dream of having a chance to wear the wonderful uniform of the United Navy Nurse never came to being. However I had the most wonderful experience of caring for the greatest group ever of young enlisted and officers at Beaufort Naval Hospital in Beaufort S.C. and also the terrific hospital in Okinawa Japan where I served with some of the most wonderful Navy Doctors and Nurses and hope again to be able to do that. Right now I am recovering in Minnesota from a horrible possible case of Lyme Disease from a deer tick bite to the right ankle and hope to resume my Nurse Practitioner skills and love of research - especially in the OB area where I started research on expectant moms and aerobic dance which I taught while living in e Northern Virginia and am a graduate of the University of Minnesota, the University of North Carolina - Greensboro, and George Mason University in Northern Virginia and George Washington University School of Medicine for the Adult Nurse Practitioner Masters program. Since I have been out of clinic for a while I recently spoke to the team at Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota and also Winona State about refreshing my coursework so that I may finally continue and pursue a very special goal of mine - a Phd in Nursing and the love of finding out just exactly what Lactic Acid will do to the unborn baby when mom is doing her aerobic dance twice weekly. Since I have had the symptoms of Lyme - I have been unable to practice my ballet techniques for my class - but would love to continue in that area. Thankyou so much for having this little spot to say hello to any Military MD because you are some of the greatest people this lady has ever had the honor to work side by side with in the most patient focused medicine there is and I abolutely love the study of Medicine. (especially with moms and their sweet little ones that are on the "on deck" position and ready to become wonderful future military officers). I also never had the opportunity to become a Mom - and so caring for these Moms and their little ones are so very special to this lady.
