Well, for starters, I know I'm a great catch. I'm a former Navy girl from Ohio who has fallen in love with Hawaii. I'm a strange combination of sophisticated and nerdy. I have my hangups and quirks, but I am relatively baggage free. I am driven and love to learn. /br/br A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I was married. I was very young and not that bright. It turned out to be a big mistake, but in the long run I'm thankful for it. That travesty really opened my eyes to what it means to be with someone in a long-term serious committed relationship./br My philosophy on relationships: I believe that two people can be together and still be independent, that those people can have similar paths and goals and remain individuals./br My philosphy on marriage: I believe that marriage is a celebration of two people committing to each other and not about a piece of paper filed at a courthouse./br And for the record, I'm not on here to find someone to marry to replace my ex. Remember, a long time ago in a galaxy far away. :) /br/br I don't have children, but I would like a small family one day years from now. Please don't take this to mean I'm baby-crazy or looking to get knocked up. Also, if you already have a child, that's lovely. I'm not opposed to dating men who have already started a family, but if you aren't looking to have any more, I'm probably not the woman for you. /br/br I am not looking for a current drug user or anyone who is into/glorifies the "drug culture". Yes, pot counts as a drug. I don't mind if it was something you did in the past (the past means years ago, not last week), but I will not be with someone who thinks shoving blow up their nose at age 40 is still an attractive quality. /br/br I am a supporter of the LGBT community. If homosexuality bothers you, you may not want to message me. Fair warning. /br/br ----- /br/br This little extra blurb is going to make me sound stuck-up, but it's for the common good. /br/br If you've messaged me and are wondering why I haven't written back, ask yourself about the message you've sent me. Here's a smattering of what I normally get and why I don't respond: /br/br "hi how are you"/br "Wow great profile msg me back if you wanna talk"/br "how you doin"/br "wanna chat sometime?" /br/br Why would I want to take the time to answer questions that require one word answers and/or chat with someone I know nothing about (especially when that person's profile is barely completed)? All this shows me is you're not serious about finding someone. /br/br Please be courteous enough to take the time to read what I've written and if you find a common interest/goal, write more than a one-line email about that subject. Maybe tell me a little more about yourself. Ask me a question that I can answer. Foster communication and show me that you're interested in me and not that black and white picture I posted of myself in a bra. Yup, there's a reason I chose that one! Sneaky sneaky. /br/br Hope to have a real conversation with you soon. :)
